Yoga
Teacher Training Curriculum.
These
workshops are open to EVERYONE :)
and you do
NOT
need to be enrolled in Yoga Teacher
Training to take these workshops

Introduction to Yoga |

This workshop will explore the 5 principles of Yoga, and
the philosophy and aim of yoga.
Participants will gain an
understanding of Prana (life
force) and its movement within
the body. We will learn and
practice Pranayama (breathing
exercises) to control the flow
of prana and channel this energy
to raise consciousness.
Participants will begin to
explore techniques in meditation
and discuss the goal of these
practices. Participants will
learn Bhakti yoga (yoga of
devotion) by closing each
workshop with traditional yogic
ritual and celebration. |

This workshop will introduce the
4 paths of Yoga, the 8 Limbs of
Ashtanga Yoga from the Yoga
Sutras of Pantanjali, and cover
topics as Ahimsa, (non-violence)
Satya (truthfulness) and
Brahmacharya (abstinence ) and
how these apply to us as modern
day yogis. Participants will
learn the many benefits of
Headstand and practice the King
of Asanas, learning to quiet the
mind, control fear and see the
world from different
perspectives. We will discuss
ways to bring this practice into
our everyday lives.

Asana and the Astral Body I |

|
This workshop will introduce and
explore the philosophy of man’s
3 bodies and 5 sheaths.
Participants will explore the
concept of their Astral body and
the energies channels (nadis)
and energy centers (chakras).
Sarvangasana, Halasana and
Matsyasana will be practiced and
explored and experienced in
relation to the energy
centers. Chakras meditation
will be discussed and practiced.

This workshop will explore the 3
Gunas (Qualities) of the
Universe and their manifestation
as man’s 3 levels of
consciousness. Participants
will explore the present moment
in Paschimottananasana (Seated
Forward Bend), and various
Balance Postures. Pranayama and
meditation techniques will be
practiced. |

Experience a
beautiful evening Kirtan performed
in the traditional call and response
format. Please bring any
devotional songs, chants, hymns or
inspirational readings or poems you
might like to share.
We will also discuss Yoga Philosophy: Bhagavad Gita,
Pantanjali Sutras and readings from Swami Sivananda
Free Pot Luck Vegetarian Dinner
Bring a vegetarian
dish and enjoy a healthy vegetarian dinner in a sattvic peaceful
environment.
